Source Pro Search is conducting a search for an Embedded Software Engineer on behalf of our client, who is expanding their US software development team.
Position: Embedded Software Engineer
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will work independently with general oversight from the software lead to support the development of multiple key software systems. Your responsibilities include:
Independently contributing to the development and deployment of embedded aircraft and ground software systems.
Collaborating with team members to define overall software requirements and develop robust software designs, encompassing safety-critical and mission-critical functionality.
Working with multidisciplinary teams to design safe, efficient, testable, and verifiable software solutions.
Implementing software designs by translating requirements and designs into code.
Developing safety and mission-critical software systems using SCADE and other model-based tools.
Applying DO-178C standards to ensure robust and safe software development, while utilizing Agile methodologies where practicable.
Thriving in a fast-paced environment with a positive and innovative mindset.
US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance.
Professional experience in aerospace or high-assurance software development, focusing on safety and/or mission-critical systems, and familiarity with associated technologies like Real-Time Operating Systems.
Proficiency in all phases of software development: requirements, design, coding, and testing.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse team.
Bachelor's or Master's in software engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
3-5 years of related work experience.
Experience with ALM and requirements management tools (Polarion, IBM DOORS, etc.).
Familiarity with Agile tools (Confluence, Jira, etc.).
Model-Based Development expertise, including SysML (Cameo, SCADE Architect, etc.).
Proficiency in multiple programming languages, with C and Python being preferred.
Experience with SCADE Tool Suite (SCADE Suite, SCADE Display).
Familiarity with CI/CD and version control systems (Git, Gitlab, LDRA).
Experience developing software for certification in aerospace or automotive industries according to standards such as DO-178B/C, MIL-HDBK-516C, and ISO 26262.
