Director of Marketing

SourcePro Search has a fantastic opportunity for a Director of Marketing in Midtown with our top ranked, and large global law firm client.  The incumbent will work closely with the firm’s Chief Marketing Officer and will provide leadership to, and management of the Marketing team as well as strategic direction and oversight of firm-wide and practice-specific marketing efforts.
The Director of Marketing will develop and implement effective marketing strategies that are in alignment with the Firm’s established priorities and plans. He or she will be responsible for managing the technology infrastructure that supports content marketing, digital campaigns, database administration, client relationship management (CRM), external website, etc. The Director will also oversee the development of special projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a premier marketing function, including vision and strategy for high-end traditional and online marketing communications and branding, which ensures that the Firm is branded appropriately in key practices and industry sectors
  • Manage the digital marketing suite and collaborate with the communications team to ensure appropriate technology platforms are in place and utilized for optimal performance. Evaluate marketing systems, processes, and procedures, and drive innovation and continuous improvement; leverage technology to advance firm objectives including search engine optimization (SEO), greater engagement across platforms, enhance CRM use and sophisticated experience management tools, among others
  • Provide innovative strategic leadership to develop and establish Firm-wide, practice, and market-specific marketing strategies; work to ensure organizational alignment behind these strategies
  • Develop a deep understanding of each practice and its competitive position
  • Serve as steward and champion of the firm’s brand; enable best-in-class campaign development and execution
  • Manage the design team in its development of brand strategies to support the Firm’s brand and communication objectives
  • In coordination with members of the Business Development and communications teams, recommend and develop practice-specific marketing strategies, including metrics to define success, and help build support throughout the firm for these initiatives.
  • Support all areas within the marketing functions to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency in all marketing processes
  • Hire, manage, mentor, and develop staff; ensure that all functional resources are in alignment with the firm’s vision and strategic objectives and perform at the highest level of quality, consistency and efficiency
  • Keep abreast of both legal and business markets and “best practices” in legal industry marketing techniques. Monitor key competitors in each core practice area to continually refine how the firm favorably differentiates itself to clients
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and ways to improve our marketing suite. Direct and supervise complex marketing projects requiring the involvement of multiple groups with the department and throughout the firm
  • Organize and attend regular meetings to ensure and support regular and effective communication on issues and opportunities relating to marketing, team management and the firm’s financial performance
  • Execute ad hoc requests to support special projects, practices and initiatives as needed

  • Ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities to meet time-sensitive deadlines, as well as manage multiple projects simultaneously, including confidential matters
  • Proven ability to achieve measurable results through superior project and team management skills
  • Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business landscape and global markets
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree. Master’s degree in Business or Technology. is a plus
  • 8 - 10 years of experience in a successful marketing role in a professional services environment;
  • Direct management experience specifically related to team building, managing performance, goal setting and delivering timely feedback
