Source Pro Search is conducting a search for a Senior Test Engineer for a major established international and brand name company. This exciting opportunity is based in south suburban Atlanta, GA, within the (Product Development) Testing Department. The Senior Test Engineer will play a key role in managing projects to achieve specific targets for vehicles, covering function, performance, durability, cost reduction, ease of manufacturing, and more.
As a Senior Test Engineer, you will be a crucial part of the internal development process, collaborating with other testing and design engineer team members under the direction of management. This hands-on position involves working on both the electrical and mechanical aspects, including tearing down and rebuilding vehicles. You will troubleshoot at customer sites and actively participate in the full cycle of the project, including the wiring of the vehicle.
This role is ideal for an out-of-the-box thinker who can manage the entire vehicle development project. Engineer Position Summary:
Develop new vehicles to enhance product performance and leverage technological advances.
Follow the internal development process and submit deliverables.
Manage schedules, costs, and quality to complete projects successfully.
Plan, design, and supervise project activities.
Determine the causes of failures and improve the Product Development and Development Quality Assurance processes.
Manage the entire vehicle development project.
Build prototype parts, components, systems, and vehicles for evaluation.
Conduct evaluations based on existing testing protocols and validate results on schedule.
Analyze causes of market claim parts and determine countermeasure specifications.
Collaborate with both domestic and overseas suppliers.
Communicate with the Headquarter in Japan.
Self-manage tasks to meet the schedule.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
BS degree in engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology, or a relevant field. Consideration will be given for equivalent experience.
5-10 years of experience in vehicle evaluation or relevant evaluation. Lesser experience considered for other Testing Engineer positions (minimum 2 years).
Ability to drive vehicles at a high level and evaluate performance for meeting vehicle criteria.
Understanding and usage of equipment for strain measurement and analysis, vehicle handling, and performance equipment.
Ability to visualize and plan multiple technical assignments 1-6 months into the future.
Ability to conceive countermeasure plans for technical challenges.
Basic knowledge of automobile technologies.
Broad knowledge of principles regarding mechanical engineering.
Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials for both production and prototype quality.
Broad knowledge of technical problem-solving.
Ability to apply basic mechanical engineering knowledge to real-world vehicle design.
Good written and verbal communication ability.
