SourcePro Search is conducting a search for an Operations Manager due to promotion at their large high volume manufacturing facility near Savannah, GA. In this role will manage operations of a small manufacturing location or section of a larger manufacturing location. Will provide leadership in the areas of safety, quality, production, financial controls, plant security, OSHA compliance, quality, facilities, and manufacturing. Will work with many functional areas across the company to ensure consistency in operations and related strategies. Will ensures large-scale projects are completed on time, on budget and meet specified quality standards, production requirements and preset goals. Will be over 15 salaried employees and there are 150 hourly employees below those. National relocation assistance is available as well as very attractive bonus potential. Large capital investments are being made at the plant. High pressure aluminum die casting is occurring at the facility as well as machining and assembly.
Job Responsibilities
Oversees specific plant operations and related support areas
Coordinates technical service activities across a broad range of internal and external assignments
Accountable for safety, quality, delivery and manufacturing costs; manages the effective use of production hours, skills, equipment and facilities
Participates in planning production schedules, requirements and manufacturing controls as related to manufacturing operations
Develops and implements strategies for operational improvement; ensures efficiency standards for all operations are met
Develops capital and other annual budgeting including evaluating the Economic Value Added (EVA) and Return on Investment (ROI) impact for location; maintains and manages established budgets throughout fiscal year to achieve financial goals
Evaluates new technologies and recommends strategies for acquisition and implementation
Drives cost reduction and continuous improvement concepts and projects to achieve annual goals; monitors and improves employee productivity and effectiveness related to operations and maintains a commitment to employee involvement
Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget

Job Skills Requirements
Comprehensive knowledge of technical service practices, processes, procedures and production support activities including efficiency levels and productivity standards
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to effectively work with diverse groups of people
Demonstrated success in implementing large-scale improvements and changes in complex and diverse environments
Familiarity with Purchasing and Industrial Engineering functions as well as plant layout efficiencies
Strong leadership and motivational skills and the ability to develop leadership qualities in others
Ability to coordinate and organize multiple projects simultaneously
Well-developed analytical skills and knowledge of analysis techniques that assist in report preparation for decision-making purposes
Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Education
Bachelor's Degree in
Engineering or
related field, or equivalent education and experience
Experience Requirements
Minimum of seven years of experience in production / operations management over both the die casting and machining process. SAP experience is a plus. Desire also budget and P&L experience.
