Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant

Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant needed in our Newark office. Candidates should have at least 3 years of complex commercial litigation experience in a law firm environment, with strong knowledge of e-filing in State and Federal court for both NJ and NY. Salary: $55k-$65k

What You'll Do:

  • Draft pleadings and orders, ensuring compliance with filing requirements and deadlines.
  • Prepare and e-file documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery in Federal and State Courts (NJ & NY).
  • Coordinate and assist with trial preparations.
  • Handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Heavy calendaring and scheduling for meetings, calls, deadlines, and proactively ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Manage attorney's schedule and calendar all meetings/deadlines.
  • Prepare and respond to extensive discovery, utilizing e-discovery software if needed.
  • Document management, organization, retrieval, and production.
  • Maintain case pleadings, correspondence, discovery, and research for large volume cases.
  • Prepare and finalize pleadings in accordance with applicable court rules.
  • Prepare for depositions, including document preparation and other discovery-related tasks.
  • Coordinate work with outside document/litigation vendors, including adherence to strict deadlines.
  • Cite-check and edit/revise legal documents.
  • Organize and prepare exhibit lists and/or privilege logs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum of 3 years of complex commercial litigation experience in a law firm environment.
  • Strong knowledge of e-filing in State and Federal courts for both NJ and NY.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in e-discovery software and document management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and legal research tools.
