We are seeking a Litigation Technology Manager with a Bachelor's degree and at least four (4) years of relevant project management experience and a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
The Litigation Technology Manager position offers an exciting opportunity to support the head of Litigation Services in strategizing, redesigning, and delivering enhanced services and technology to our global Litigation and Employment teams. Initially, the Manager will focus on the following areas:
- Strategy and solutions delivery
- Building a new team of discovery technologists
- Providing tech consultations to client litigation matter teams (billable activity)
- Managing vendor relationships
- Implementing change management
- Educating litigators on e-discovery issues and solutions
This role will also be responsible for providing technical, supervisory, and professional leadership.
What You'll Do:
• Strategize and execute a roadmap for internal and external e-discovery and other litigation technology solutions:
o Identify gaps in internal services and technologies;
o Investigate and recommend new services and technologies;
• Design and hire a small but impactful discovery project management team leveraging world-class technology and workflows;
• Provide direct assistance to matter teams and clients regarding electronic discovery best practices and specific challenges, such as data collection, data processing, AI-enabled workflows, and document production;
• Manage the relationships with our panel vendors:
o Ensure overall client service levels and success;
o Create and maintain open and clear lines of communications;
o Perform an external vendor spend analysis;
o Lead contract negotiations;
o Ensure back-end billing and other operational processes are in place;
• Lead internal marketing, awareness outreach, and training for paralegals, lawyers, and other timekeepers;
• Create and maintain ediscovery content in knowledge base (checklists, guides, etc);
• Innovate: identify the need for additional improvements (software, services, knowledge, or process) both for the Practice Innovation Department, by the Litigation Technology team, and practice groups;
• Continuous improvement and creativity; and
• Handle additional related projects as necessary.
What You'll Bring:
• A Bachelor’s degree; a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree;
• A minimum of four (4) years of relevant project management experience;
• A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience;
• Ideally, law firm experience (Innovation, paralegal, litigation support, or practice support).
• Superior knowledge of complex ediscovery issues;
• Superior knowledge of ediscovery and litigation technologies including Relativity, RelOne, Concordance, Opus2, Disco, AI methodologies, and workflows;
• Desire to continuously learn and educate others;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills;
• Ability to work proactively and solve problems with minimal supervision;
• Display proficiency in spearheading cross-functional long-term projects, devising innovative approaches, and executing on same; and
• Experience working with e-discovery vendors in a collaborative manner.
