We are looking for a skilled Legal Assistant to join our New York office. This position requires top-notch litigation skills to perform a variety of secretarial and administrative functions, providing essential support to assigned fee earners in the preparation of legal documents, research, and general administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Document Production: Draft, revise, and proofread legal documents and correspondence.
- Administrative Support: Manage attorneys' schedules, coordinate travel arrangements, handle phone calls, and liaise with clients and external partners.
- Meeting Coordination: Arrange and coordinate meetings and events, take meeting minutes.
- File Management: Maintain and update client and office files, ensuring confidentiality and security.
- Expense Management: Handle reimbursement of expenses and enter attorney timesheets.
- Billing: Prepare, edit, and mail client invoices.
- Reception Coverage: Provide backup reception coverage as needed.
Requirements
Education
- Associate’s degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years as a Legal Assistant, preferably with a litigation background.
- Document management experience, ideally with NetDocs.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet applications.
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail.
