SourcePro Search is conducting a search for an experienced Infrastructure Architect to join the Information Services Division at our client’s world headquarters in Ohio. The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for researching, cost-justifying, recommending, and establishing current and future hardware and software architectures for all aspects of information technology, from networks up through operating systems and shared software services. This position requires a broad, hands-on technical background, with knowledge of IP networking, telephony, platform system administration, storage technologies, virtualization, relational databases and layered software services such as system monitoring, scheduling, backup/recovery etc.
In addition to these general responsibilities, this individual will participate significantly in architecting a consistent, well-integrated, enterprise approach to the deployment of the SAP technology stack and shared services. The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for developing, communicating, and maintaining the Infrastructure strategies that result in efficient and effective use of investments made in information technology infrastructure products and services. This person will maintain expertise in the area of infrastructure architecture, including industry trends, strategies, and products to ensure that a multi-year investment strategy is in place to support future business needs. Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related technical field.
Demonstrated ability to conceive, architect, and socialize enterprise-class infrastructure solutions and services;
At least 5 years of experience working in an architect capacity;
5-7 years of experience in the engineering and operation of either a Unix or Windows OS platform environment is strongly preferred;
Solid foundation in IP-based networking and contemporary virtualization technologies is also strongly preferred;
Ability to work in a matrix team environment and familiarity with ITIL methodology and practices a plus.
