SourcePro Search has a fantastic opportunity for a Patent Client Services Manager. This is a hybrid remote role with our prestigious and large firm client and will support the IP team. The Patent Client Services Manager will be responsible for the workflow, training, and processes of the Patent Client Services Administrator team. The Patent Client Services Manager will develop/implement robust training programs and perform supervisory functions ensuring compliance with the firm’s policies and procedures.
Reporting to the Senior Patent Practice Support Manager, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience in a patent prosecution practice and at least two (2) years of relevant leadership work experience. Experience in a law firm setting is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Provide daily oversight and mentoring to Patent Client Services Administrators (and leads) and Patent Practice Assistants, in the areas of workflow coordination, quality, and training.
Establish and implement a strategic plan for the Patent Client Services Administrator teams, including short‑ and long‑term goals and initiatives.
Formulate or direct the formulation of policies and procedures for the functions of the team to ensure timely and efficient workflow of docketed and/or attorney requested items.
Establish and implement staff productivity measurement procedures to ensure staff performance can be quantified on a regular basis.
Provide monthly department status reports, which include issues of performance, outstanding problems, and suggested resolutions.
Monitor and maintain reports for statistical analysis of incoming and outgoing work product and department processing times.
Develop, monitor, and coordinate policies and procedures for training new team members as well as new attorneys.
Develop and maintain an operating user manual and guides to include team policies and procedures.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of patent rules and regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Comprehensive knowledge of the U.S. Patent Prosecution process as well as U.S. Patent Prosecution docketing knowledge.
Must have strong knowledge of IP docketing systems and forms generation systems.
Proficiency in navigating some or all of the following PTO platforms: EFS, PAIR, EPAS, WIPO, and PTO Financial Manager.
Familiarity with Foreign Patent Prosecution timelines.
